The Drug De-Addiction Centre is envisioned not as an institution of control, but as a landscape of healing where architecture becomes a silent partner in recovery. Rooted in the principles of biophilia, the design seeks to reconnect individuals with nature, rhythm, and a sense of self.
In the context of Punjab, where addiction carries both social stigma and emotional isolation, the centre is conceived as a place of dignity and trust for both patients and their families.
Spaces are designed to feel familiar, warm, and non-threatening with avoidance of harsh clinical finishes, use of natural materials and earthy palettes, residential-scale clusters, soft lighting, and informal seating areas.
