Located near Ropar, Sarai Bharatgarh is envisioned as a contemporary reinterpretation of the traditional sarai, a place of pause, exchange, and cultural immersion. Rooted in the legacy of historic caravanserais, the project seeks to revive this typology as a destination that blends hospitality, heritage, and landscape.
Set within a serene, agrarian context, the architecture responds to its surroundings with restraint and sensitivity, allowing the land to remain the primary protagonist. The planning is anchored around a series of courtyards, shaded pathways, and interconnected built forms that echo the spatial memory of traditional Punjabi settlements.
